I hope that I haven’t given you
the impression that I think
we are all just innocent victims of the entertainment
industry. I probably have, but I didn’t mean to. There is
another side to this.
Let’s revisit the drug dealer
analogy. The one who sells
drugs is committing an illegal act, and the one who buys
drugs is also committing an illegal act.
Do you think it would make any sense
for law enforcement
to concentrate all their efforts only on the seller of the
drugs, and completely ignore the buyer of the drugs?
Of course not. Both are guilty. Perhaps
the seller is a little
“more guilty” than the buyer, but you could hardly call
the
buyer an “innocent victim”.
It’s the same with the sellers
and buyers of cultural poison.
The focus of this book just happens to be more on the seller
than the buyer.
It’s very important that we become
aware of the negative
influences in our cultural environment which are
contributing to so many of our problems. So often you’ll
find those that love to lament about the effects of a
problem, but never want to investigate the source of a
problem.

Americans (and all Americans), you’ll land smack dab in
